Which Indian doesn't know about "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" song that shows the love, democracy and India's pride. "Mile sur mera tumhara" was conceptualised and conceived by late Suresh Mallick and it was first aired on Doordarshan on Aug 15, 1988.

Vocalists Bhimsen Joshi, Balamurali Krishna, sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, tabla maestros Allah Rakha and Zakir Hussain, sportsmen Narendra Hirwani Prakash Padukone, film personalities like Amitabh, Lata Mangeshkar, Mithun Chakraborty, Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Kamal Haasan, Sharmila Tagore, Tanuja and Waheeda Rehman appeared in the original Mile Sur Mera Tumhara song.

Now after 22 years Arti and Kailash Surendranath have recreated and presented it as "Phir mile sur"

Amitabh Bachchan released the new version of the patriotic song "Mile sur mera tumhara" in Mumbai on the eve of Republic Day. It is now titled "Phir Mile Sur"

More than 60 known personalities, including actors Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Juhi Chawla along with other prominent personalities feature in the new version of the song.

It features 22 superstars, 18 musicians, 13 artistes and singers and 15 other known personalities. Check out the original Mile Sur Mera Tumhara and "Phir Mile Sur" right here..

good ones really new ones with some prominent personalities...........

but i guess one thing wher's our culture going......see the dress sense of deepika, salman

and shahid.....why cant the female leads wear a gud saree which is indias culture and

salman this is not a body showwwww.............

The old one still rocks than new one. The new one is not showing Indian culture as much as it was in old one.

Disgusting!Incomplete,Insulting,Disapointing- Sindhi should have been included.No where near to the original song.

Rajan - fully agree. The new version is empty, vapid, and has no class. Really poor theme, horrible music, bollywood cinematography, cast comprising mostly movie stars - most of whom are either has been or wanna be's. To cite just one example: Amitabh Bachchan singing a poem ... really! It's like a buffalo braying in a pond. Is he a poet? No! Is he a vocalist? No! Is he even an actor? No ... he stopped acting @1979! Then, what the hell is he doing singing a poem in this clip?

I m thankfull to total bollywood that dey did not casted Atif Aslam,javad ali,meera,and aalll paki fools in Mile sur... Believe me next time this will also happen..

The OLD video was intended to instill a sense of pride and promote unity amongst Indians, highlighting the different linguistic communities and societies that live in India -- India's unity in diversity, so to speak....

BUT THE NEW VIDEO SHOWS NOTHING LIKE THAT..MOREOVER THEY HAVE NOT INCLUDED SINDHIS IN THEIR NEW VERSION...

The current version (16 min 17 sec) runs longer than the older version (6 min 9 sec)...THE NEW VERSION BEING SO LONG STILL THEY HAVE NOT INCLUDED SINDHIS AS A PART OF THE SONG....ITS AN INSULT ND SHAME FOR US....AND A TOTAL DISGUST ON THE PART OF ZOOM TV...
