An independent writer, Aditya Bhatt, with the format, after which the production house approached Sawant. Known for her daring image, Sawant expressed the desire to get married on television. NDTV Imagine bought the idea and will soon package it into a reality show called Rakhi Ka Swayamvar.
The show will trace the journey of the bride-to-be from selecting her groom to the marriage ceremony, all on television. Following a ‘call for entries’ promo on the channel, there will be a nationwide search for prospective grooms. Interested prospective grooms have to send in their profiles for selection, which will be followed by multi-city face to face meetings for short listing of the candidates.
Each week, the fifteen shortlisted grooms will be put through tasks that will test their personality, character, physical fitness, talent and compatibility. The audience will be able to give its feedback and help in the selection process by writing in to the show.
