The Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo is becoming ready for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards which are to be held later this year from July 2 to July 4.
Our neighbor country SriLanka is now preparing the stadium for hosting the IIFA awards which would take place later in July for 3 days this year. This is the 10th IIFA award to be presented for bollywood professionals.
Achala Jagoda, SriLanka’s Minister for Tourism, has announced that more than a few countries had competed with one another to get the permission to host the IIFA awards event, but It was Sri Lanka who has finally got the nod to conduct this Major event of every year’s calendar. Mr. Jagoda portrayed this as an international accomplishment, and also commented that quite a lot of important events like Indian business meeting, would be held along with the IIFA event’s sidelines.
This would make the country feel proud and also recognizable among those who competed for this hosting. During 2000, the IIFA awards were introduced to award Bollwood excellences. Every year, The International Indian Film Academy would be awarding The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. These prestigious awards are offered to honor both artistic and technical brilliance of professionals of Bollywood. This IIFA award ceremony will usually be held in many different countries around the globe every year.
In London at The Millennium Dome the first ceremony of the IIFA awards was held. From that time onwards the IIFA awarding ceremony were moving from places to laces to different locations across the globe for advertising the international Grandness of Hindi cinema. Earlier, it was held two times in South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, The Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, England, Thailand and Macau and has now finally reached to SriLanka to host this year’s IIFA Bollywood awards.
