Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have formed a partnership to bring to life `The Secret of the Unicorn’ from the `Adventures of Tintin’ based on Georges Remi Herge’s masterpiece comic books. Peter Jackson is producing the 3D animated film and Steven Spielberg is directing it. The film is slated for Christmas release this year.
The Tintin movie is looking all set for success with such a collaboration. Spielberg and Jackson have announced that they will shoot two more films back to back on Tintin’s adventures. Spielberg has bought the rights from Georges Remi of three stories including this one and had become a great fan. Peter Jackson’s special effects team, `Weta Digital’ is working on using 3D animation to bring the junior reporter detective and his dog `Snowy’ to life. The team is working in New Zealand. It took them more than a year to complete a twenty minute demonstration that blew the supporters away. They are eagerly anticipating the release of the film later this year.
Jaime Bell is now selected to voice Tintin. Andy Serkis is voicing Captain Haddock and Daniel Craig is lending his voice to the character of Red Rackham. In this movie, Tintin and his friends are in search of a sunken ship. The ship was commanded by Captain Haddock’s ancestors. It sunk with huge treasure. Tintin is in search of this hidden treasure with the usual twists in the story. The stories for the second and the third films have already been lined up. They will be the `Prisoners of the Sun’ and `The Blue Lotus’.
