BSNL has planned to launch its WiMax- the wireless Broadband service this month in NCR. To start with the service provider will launch the service from Dhakor of Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for IT and Communications said that this service will be extended to other parts of NCR such as Bisrakh, Dadri, Jewar and Jahangirpuri in next financial year. This WiMax provides the user to access services like video telephony, TV on mobile, video-conferencing, tele-medicine and e-learning.
State owned BSNL and MTNL is planning to set up 10 new exchanges in Noida this year for WiMax service. With improved quality of service, both companies expected to add 25,000 new subscribers to their present user base. BSNL at present has nearly 75,000 subscribers and MTNL has 25,000 subscribers in Noida circle.
