By now all of the internet community knows about the famous facebook application Scrabulous. Scrabulous is an online word game which allows facebook users to play it with their friends all over the world. you can play in real time inside the game rooms, with people from all over the world. You can also invite friends into a room and match them.

Scrabulous was created by Agrawal brothers from Calcutta, India. They developed this game after realizing that there was no online version for the famous game Scrabble. Now Redwood City's EA (Electronic Arts Inc.) plans to capitalize on the success of scrabulous.

EA said Monday that it plans to release a Scrabble application this month that Facebook members can plug into their profile pages.

One key limit is that EA's Facebook game will be available only to U.S. and Canadian users, as determined by the numeric Internet address of their computers. So that means if you have friends outside USA, you won't be able to play. That is a big limitation for EA's scrabble. I think Scrabulous has an advantage over EA's Scrabble here.

I don't think EA would be able to defeat Scrabulous for that matter. Scrabulous already has millions of fans and has around half a million visitors every day. Facebook users have created Save Scrabulous campaign and there is a petition to save Scrabulous which got around 8800 signatures from around the world.

Are you voting for Scrabulous or EA's Scrabble?
