Social Web
Internet & Social Media are no more just booming, have too much spread in our society that they became dominated with certain section(s).  Earlier there was a belief that anyone can publish work online & attract traffic to get the public opinion. This statement is over manipulated as comment itself level the dominance. Presently, internet is dominating market under which influence s can be experienced.

According to new study carried by the University of California, Berkeley, has found that the social web, far from being a digital democracy, is being majorly dominated by the opinions of the rich people. Social networking sites are majority used by college goers & educated people.  "Having Internet access is not sufficient. Even among people online, those who are digital producers are much more likely to have higher incomes along with educations," said Jen Schradie, a doctoral candidate in sociology at UC Berkeley.

Her complete analysis is based on data taken from more than 41,000 American adults surveyed between 2000 and 2008 and found that college graduates are 1.5 times more likely to be bloggers than are high school graduates, twice as prone to post photos and videos online and three times more likely to post an online rating or a comment.  Result brings out a huge digital division between social media users which is comparatively high between the haves and have-nots than it is between young and old. It also underscores the sudden rising impacts between the poor and working class people. These people have lack of resources, so it could be tough for them to anticipate completely with concern to social participation. If we go along with conventional section comment, it tells Internet is simply leveling the game plan between the voices.

"But my findings show the Internet is actually reinforcing the socio-economic divisions that already exist, and may even heighten them, which has all sorts of implications as more of civic and economic life moves online," added Schradie.

Author’s Comment:

Internet is today become of our day to day life; previously Internet was only used by some section society, who actually dominating a lot in Internet Usage segment. Obliviously reason is the availability of resistive service & requirements. In country like India, where Power is still under crisis phase, so how can middle class afford to use internet? Talking about speed, currently it depends more on what you’re paying or offered bandwidth. Similarly with Social Media, People failed to understand the importance of Social networking tools. Therefore socializing is LIMITED!

Rising series of study on Internet technology purely depart the new era of digit world. We can easily find out this mounting epoch which came from sudden breakthrough happened at Arab. It’s just beginning…….
