New system will have two levels of specific warnings as elevated and imminent. These warnings will be relayed to the public only under certain circumstances for limited periods of time, sometimes while using Facebook and Twitter, according to a draft by Homeland Security Department plan, as reported by The Associated Press.
Like a gallon of milk, the new terror warnings will each come with a stamped expiration date. (Quoted)
As per as reports, this new alert system would also be published online using Facebook and Twitter "when appropriate," the plan concluded, but only after federal, state and local government leaders have already been informed. The new system is supposed to be in place by the last week of April. Since government has been struggling over a long time on sharing alerts on public zone, such things will help to notifications on time & also reveal intelligence information on time.
Social media channels carry advantage of real-time conversations which help in getting all necessary information on same channel source. Color warnings was the last update from US government under protective measures against terror attacks warning. Of course, government needs to work out on trial basis especially mock deals. Presently as drafted plan, an "elevated" alert would warn of a plausible threat against the U.S. It would not probable specify timing or targets, but it could disclose terrorist trends that intelligence officials believe should be shared in order to prevent any kind of such attack. That alert would also expire after no more than 30 days but could be extended.
Official government sources haven’t mentioned any remark on this whole plan. Hopefully govt may soon expose this networking-alertness plan.
