MMI has published on this webpage more than 10000 articles. The MMI is planning also to unite with some producers of content. It has signed a contract with Harvard Medical School using it as a content partner. Jagran Prakashan has entered the health information category for the first time. In India there are not too many websites concerning health topics. Some of them are NDTVDoctor.com, Bolohealth.com, Medindia.net, and Divinewellness.com.
Sukirti Gupta, a chief executive of MMI Online said that he has realized that there were a lot of searches on health issues and that in India there was a lack of health related web sites which reverted the traffic to other health web sites located in other countries. He said that this fact gave him the idea of creating a health portal. The monetization of the website is planned to be mainly through advertisements. Gupta said that he believed that there were plenty of advertisers- manufacturers of health and lifestyle goods and over-the-counter drugs. In his opinion hospitals and doctors will also be ready to advertise and reach their audience over the Internet.
MMI also is planning to sell advertising inventory based on the CPM
(cost per thousand impressions).Apart from regular banner ads ,Rich media innovations, page takeovers video ads will also be offered. Gupta didn’t share his expectations about the future revenues of the site. The monetization of this site will be interestingly to watch taking into account that the total health ads on health based portals are not too much.
According to estimates it is calculated that advertisers that advertise on the health sector spend on average Rs 40 crore annually .Only 10 % of the ads are positioned on health information sites. The remaining portion is directed to other generic portals. Most health advertisers also prefer CPL (cost per lead) campaigns. The MMI online has introduced subtle branding and the Jargan logo was not visible because it was not placed on a prominent position.
Other portals managed by MMI online are Jagran.com, Jagranjunction.com, blogging platform and a shopping platform named jagranshop.com.
