Online Transacting Users Number May Reach 30 Million by 2015: Study
New study in the internet segment says “Overall Penetration is increasing day by day, as it becomes more e-commerce platform than anything”. Report says number of people transacting online services is expected to go over 39 million by 2015. Enormous potential in the Internet market sees new people joining across the boundaries & different nations. China, USA, Canada & India are marked as the major growing regions across the globe in Internet nos.
As per study carried by commercial firm Avendus, fluctuations in the market will further fillip to the Indian e-commerce market which is projected to grow to USD 24 billion by 2015 from USD 6.3 billion now. Huge growth rate & rising business in the Internet channel has forced market to nurture faster.
Currently nearly 8-10 million people in India transact online, which is approximately 11 per cent of the 80 million Internet users in the country. It shows incursion of seven per cent of the population and 17 per cent of the urban population, says the study titled 'Indian Digital Consumer Industry'. (Courtesy – Economic Times)
In the worldwide Internet market, USA ranks no. 1 position with the maximum users online doing shopping. American market itself comprised with about 75 percent of the net internet market. About eight percent internet growth rate has been demonstrated since last six years. The best thing of US market is about rising ecommerce ventures & e-governance initiatives. US & European countries are pushing users to go across the web pool & shop from the home. Credit Card & the simplest transaction system at American planet have also reason behind splendors growth in Internet market.
Coming to Indian market, it is still devoid of many unexplored ventures. Travelling & tours are the most accessed commercial websites in Indian subcontinent. IRCTC, government of India’s railway ticketing website recorded the maximum clicks in the day with the turnover of over 60 cr per day. Unique users from travelling segment are estimated about 6-7 million & for non-travel commerce sites is 2-3 million today. The market of travel & tours in India is dominated by private players. Bus travel, hotels and tour packages have been slower to progress but are now rising swiftly. Around 57 per cent of the online travel revenue came from air travel, train and hotel packages contributes 37 per cent and five per cent, respectively, in 2010-11. The remaining one per cent was from bus bookings. Hotel & tours packages will surely go up soon since most users prefer complete package. Online travelling market is expected to grow at par of 22 percent to 58,800 crore by 2015. E-retailing along with travel will contribute about USD 12 billion to the total e-commerce market in 2015, report said.
