That is really rediculous. By doing an e-booking, a passenger is doing a favor to the airlines by saving their work. But according to TOI, airlines are now going to charge some extra Rs. to its customers for flight e-bookings.

SpiceJet and IndiGo airlines have started charging Rs. 50 for an e-booking on each ticket. GoAir is also charging Rs. 25 for e-booking per ticket.

"Our cost of hosting the website by systems in US had gone up. We had been absorbing this but now felt that some part could be passed on. Hence the Rs 50 web transaction charge," said Kamal Hingorani, SpiceJet V-P.

What are you talking about? Hosting a website costs you that much?? cut down on your stupid advertisements and celebrity expenses. Hosting a website isn't that expensive that make you charge Rs. 50/ticket for e-booking.

If they will do this, who would go for e-booking? Countries like USA would give you price benifit if you do e-booking and India is asking more money for it. Thats definitely not a good sign to leverage internet or e-bookings.
