Well you are listening to your iPod while brushing your teeth or talking to somebody over your mobile phone and went to the bathroom and bamm! you dropped your gadget in water.

I had something similar happend few years back. I had bought a nice Sony digital camera. I went to the waterpark with my family and wanted to take some pictures. I slipped into water and camera went down into water with me. So now what to do?

My father told me to wait till we reach home and tried hair dryer. Still didn't work. I gave it to the camera repair store and they were not able to fix it either. Well I had to finally gave up and bought a new camera.

Apperantly a staff writer for washington post, Ernesto Londoño was able to fix his blackberry once it fell down in the toilet. How? Well he left his blackberry turned off overnight in a bowl of uncooked rice. Rice normally sucks the moisture out.

SO next time if you want to fix your wet iPod or mobile phone or camera, give it a try and put it turned off overnight in a bowl of uncooked rice. It doesn't hurt to try...

You’ve thrown your shorts into the washing pile and forgotten to remove your iPod from the pocket. Now it’s gone through the washing machine.

You’re not the only one to have done this!

Follow these steps to minimise the damage and get your iPod back up and running:

1.First thing is do nothing! Do not turn your iPod on. Water within the iPod could well cause it to short-circuit, so the longer you can leave it to dry the better.
2.If you have a protective case on your iPod take it off.
3.Place the iPod in the airflow of a fan heater and set the heater temperature to low so that the air is pushed through the iPod. Test the surface temperature of the iPod to make sure it is not too hot! Fan dry for 1 hour.
4.Place the iPod in a container of dry rice and place it in the hot water cupboard for at least 24 hours. The rice absorbs excess water. Remember to not turn your iPod on throughout the drying process.
5.At the end of the drying process switch your iPod on. If you don’t get a response, place it on the charger and then retry.

    Alvin,
Sorry about your mobile. It doesn't hurt to give it a try. If itt is not functioning, it is a brick anyways.. you can try to put it overnight in a bowl of uncooked rice. Don't try to turn it on again and again.. keep it in the bowl for one night.. take out battery, keep battery separate in another bowl of rice
Next morning, try to turn it on and see if it works. Whatever the result is, please put your comments and let us all know your experience..

    Good luck!!
