You know how Google first integrated their instant messenger GTalk into Gmail, later Yahoo also integrated their IM into their mail application. Its very useful that you can see your friends who is online and offline from within your gmail account and you don't have to launch another application to do that. Now Google has gone one step further and integrated another Instant messenger within Gmail.

 

Google has just introduced feature for Gmail users. The feature will enable you to sign into your AIM account and chat with your AIM buddies right inside Gmail. When you log in to AIM through Gmail chat, your AOL buddies will appear in your chat list with friends from your Google Talk network, and you will see the yellow "running man" logo to the right of your AIM friends' screen names. To your AIM friends it will look like you are logged in to AIM as usual.

 

 

 

 

 

Thought they have announced it today and not everybody will get this feature right away in their account, I tried my account and haven't seen an option to integrate AIM. So probably we will be getting it soon. But this was just to give you headsup. :-)
