India has greate young students force. This young generation is going to take India to the next level in near future. When there are sites like Orkut, MySpace, Facebook which basically from my point of view are useless time consuming sites, there are few sites which are productive for our young generation.

 

One of those startups is CollegeMantra.com. I have seen people asking questions to their alumni or seniors about which college is better for Plastic Engineering or which college has good reputation for Jwellery design. Normally we know the colleges from where our friends/family got their graduation degree but we don't know anything beyond that. CollegeMantra.com is focusing on this issue and has tools that helps students to do their own research and analysis for their future college/degree.

 

 

 

You can find colleges and view their profiles with ratings, you can compare colleges and if you are looking for a job, you can post your resume as well. Recently the site has introduced a feature called Campus Representative where they are looking for a student, educator, a working professional or anyone who wants to be actively involved in building the Collegemantra Community on your campus or organization. Yahoo Recently launched something similar called KickStart. They have given 10 reasons why you need sites like KickStart and CollegeMantra as a matter of fact. The reasons are pretty solid. You can not invite your professor or your boss to check out your facebook or Orkut. You should keep your professional/educational profile seperate from your social profile. 

 

EnableM, a wireless solutions firm focusing on Mobile Learning and Multi-User, Multi-Platform Interactions has launched a product called MindTurf. Mindturf provides preparatory guides, sample tests, puzzles, and other tools and utilities for students preparing for MBA, CA, Medical, Law or Engineering. Now students can refer to this multifaceted Mobile Guide and prepare for their exams.

 

Same company has also launched a service called i-MSG. You can get answers to the CAT '07 paper right after the test on your cellphone with i-MSG, instant message service. You need to register for the service by sending an SMS <JOIN CAT> to 55455. The service will cost Rs. 30/- for Vodaphone and Airtel users.
