Yahoo today announced on their official blog that they have made the Flickr and Yahoo Image Search integration available to more countries and in more languages. This includes:
Asia, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Canada , Cade (Brazil), Canada (in French), Swiss, Swiss (in French), Swiss (in Italian), Catalan, Germany, Denmark, Espanola, Spain, France, Indonesia, Indonesia (English), India, Italy, Malaysia, Malaysia (English), Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Sweden, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom & Ireland, Vietnam, New Zealand, Philippines (Tagalog), Mexico, and Japan.
So now when you do an image search in Yahoo Images, you will see Flickr images also as a search results.So with this launch Flickr metadata like title, tags and comments can be used to surface Flickr
results on Yahoo! Image Search results pages, making many of the millions of photographs from the Flickr community available to Yahoo! Image Search users. Yahoo Search Blog
This Flickr photos inclusion applies only for photos that are marked as public and photos that are private will not be included in Yahoo Image Search. So for those who never care about making their pictures private or public, might want to visit their accounts and reconsider it.
In addition to this integration, Yahoo also launched a new feature called "Explorer Bar" which gives you related terms on the top of your search result page. If you are looking into searching for more, you can give those hyperlink terms a try. You would see something like "Also try .. xyz, abcd.."
