Looks like August 12th would be a historical day for Mumbai. The “Meter Jam” campaign started by three advertising professionals is going to affect Mumbaikers tomorrow. The campaign asks people to use other modes of public transport or car pools on that day.
Infact Mumbaikars have decided to lend their full support to the "Meter Jam" campaign to protest against the arbitrary fares being charged by their drivers.
Even the NGO that works with government agencies for transparency and accountability in them, is also supporting the campaign and has appealed to Mumbaikars to extend their full support.
Mumbaikar's have protested train fares hike in the past and boycott suburban trains. Mumbai Autorickshaw unions were on strike in the past but this would be the first time Mumbaikars are boycotting Autorickshaws and Taxis.
