Hotel Industry is booming in India

Indian Hotel Industry is booming right now. Indian state governments are promoting tourism and alluring foreign visitors to India. Karnataka and Kerala government recently revamped their websites and now offering discounted tour packages through out the year.

According to Business Standard, Indian Hotels Company reported 134.5 crore net profit for their first quarter. The company’s new five-star hotels are under construction in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Coimbatore and Noida.

Emaar MGF has tied up with Whitbread as 50:50 partnerships to develop 80 hotels by 2017 of the brand Premier Travel Inn. These hotels will provide rooms between the range of Rs. 2,400 to Rs. 3,600.

 

 

Sahara India Pariwar, a major player in the infrastructure and housing sector, is planning to build a five-star hotel in Lucknow. The company has plans to build a hotel in each of its 217 Sahara City homes. (read more)



The Marriott International hotel will expand its hotel portfolio with 16 new hotel properties in India by 2010. The company presently has six hotels in India.All the hotels will operate under long-term management contracts. (read more)



DNA India reports, Best Western, the world's largest hotel group, will develop 100 hotels in India over the next seven to eight years. Cabana Hotels Management Ltd has master license for Best Western India. The Cabana group will develop 3.5 to 4 star hotels in various cities and 5 star capable hotels in major cities. The group has finalized plans for hotels in Ooty, Bangalore, Jaisalmer, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Bhubaneshwar and now looking at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and other major cities.



Berggruen Hotels, promoted by US investment firm Berggruen Holdings, on Tuesday said it will invest Rs 1,100 crore (Rs 11 billion) over the next five years to build 38 'Keys' brand budget hotels comprising about 4,500 rooms across India. (read more)

    At long last hospitality has "arrived" in the country.
    The slump which affected tourism worldwide, did little to affect India as the country gets not just the curious tourist but a large number of business travelers. Also, while the world reeled in the aftermath of a recession, Indians shifted focus from international travel to domestic travel. Domestic tourism is huge in India, amounting to more than 650 million in 2009 itself.

    Large hotel chains are scrambling over each other to find their place in the sun in the metro cities. And not so large hotels are forming chains in the up and coming locations as well as in metros to provide a not-so-expensive option to guests who want service without having to empty their pockets.

    Thats' true as tremeduous opportunities for Hotels in India are arising so as manpower needed to support in various fields like management, catering and services. So it is going to be highly paid and highly competitive market in coming years
