Many of you may have been using BSNL broadband in India and let me tell you that, it sucks big time. Many times, you just sit there and wait for the page to load while biting your nails. So is there a way to increase the speed of your BSNL broadband?

Well, every small tip can help here. If you haven't heard of OpenDNS, its a provider of free security and infrastructure services that make the Internet safer through integrated Web content filtering, anti-phishing and DNS.Using OpenDNS will definitely speed up your broadband experience.

DNS speed is a combination of network latency (as measured by ping time or traceroute) and software speed. OpenDNS software and extensive cache usually make the user experience better by completing the full resolution of DNS queries faster.

Basically, OpenDNS lets you speed-up the website detection and loading process which is normally handled by your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

So here are the setting tips to increase or Speedup your BSNL broadband speed using OpenDNS.

For this you have to click on Start > Setting > Network Connection. The other way to reach the Network Connection folder is right click on the network icon on the system tray and then click on Open Network Net connection.

Right click on Lan connection and then click no Properties. See the Screen shot below.

Now click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Then from the below button click on Properties.

Here in the DNS box add the following Settings.

DNS : 208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Try anyone out of that. This settings are a part of Open DNS which usually works well especially for BSNL DNS problems. Once done save the settings and then close all Windows. Restart your PC so that settings takes place properly. Now you can enjoy a better internet speed and and surfing experience. This OpenDNS works with most of the ISP's.
