Job seekers can now upload their Video Resumes in the same way as text resumes. This facility will allow the job seeker to personally market oneself by presenting a resume and a video that speaks directly to employers.

“The new feature allows job seekers to speak directly to potential employers,” said Vikas Agarwal, VP- Product & Technology, Monster.com India, “and increase their chances of finding their dream job.”

While the Video Resumes will allow recruiters to do a preliminary screening of the candidates without getting involved in the onerous processes of interviews and practically evaluate how they present their experience and skills, some believes that video resumes may make sense in certain fields like broadcasting, marketing and theater. Unlike portfolio, though a video resume merely shows how one performs in front of a camera.

The time will tell and monster India can say how the video resume is going to work out in India. So if you have good presentation skills and looking for a job, create a video resume and start looking for a job. You never know someone might find your video resume interesting and hire you soon !!
