Italy’s Ducati , the super bike maker is looking forward to rule the Indian super bike market. The company’s model costs more than top-end cars. It plans to sell over 150 bikes in 2010, the price ranges from Rs.14 to 60 lakhs.

The company feels that India has bigger market potential when compared to China in this area. Currently, around 1000 super bikes are sold annually, whereas in China the market is limited to 100 units due to restriction by the government.

It is found that India sells 7 million two wheelers yearly. Despite the high import duties which raise the prices, the superbike segment is expected to increase in numbers. For example, Yamaha looking to launch more models in 1000-1600 cc in January .
