While there are browsers like FireFox and Google Chrome, Safari and IE 8, IE6 accounts for 20% of the web usage. IE6 has its own issues. IE6 doesn’t support key web standards. Because of this issues, developers have to hack their codes to make the application work in IE6.
This is what happened with Netscape 4. In 2000, Netscape Communicator was superseded by Netscape 6, an almost completely rewritten program based on Mozilla.
That is not the case with Microsoft. They are still supporting IE6 and there are hundreds of thousands of people using IE6 and this makes developer's work harder. They have to waste their time and companies have to waster their money.
.net magazine has started this new campaign to Bring Down IE6. What browser are you using? If you are using IE6, don't waste your time and switch to IE7.
