Gizmo5 Backdoor Dialing Not Working Anymore?

Gizmo5 formerly known as Sipphone is an integral part of my daily life. I have Set Up Free VoIP Phone With Free Incoming Numbe at my home and have been using Gizmo5's features for almost a year now. One of the coolest feature of Gizmo5 was that it allowed you to make free calls within USA using its Make Receive Calls To And From USA Free.

According to the Gizmo5 website, Backdoor dialing was/is an experimental program but if the response is positive they might continue the program into the future and expand it to wider coverage in the United States and include international numbers as well.

Guess what? Since last few days the backdoor dialing is not working. Everytime you try to use the backdoor dialing feature.. you get the following message

Sorry but we are unable to complete your call. Usually to dial landline or mobile phone you must first purchase Gizmo5 CallOut Credit at my.gizmo5.com. However, if you are calling the home or mobile phone of fellow Gizmo5 users then you may be eligible for All Calls Free program, learn more at Gizmo5.com/free, thank you

Looks like either they have stopped the "Backdoor dialing" feature silently or they may be having technical difficulties. Whatever is the case, their website Gizmo5.com doesn't say a word about what's happening. I don't mind paying money for the calls but atleast they should keep their customers informed about what's going on. 

Updates : I created a support ticket to Gizmo5 and finally after almost one month, I got a reply from the Gizmo5 support team here is the message.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your ticket. We have a large backlog of support tickets that we are handling in the order they were received. It is unusual for us to make customers wait this long for a reply, so we apologize for the inconvenience.

Sorry we don't offer the backdoor dialing program anymore. We hope you'll consider buying some credits and begin calling for our low US dialing rates. In order to place these calls through our call out program, you must dial 011 for calling outside of the US or just 1 to dial within the US.

    I condemn such behaviour. Gizmo should focus on the effecency of their support system since it is a bad approash; loosing its valuable customer.

    yes I did. Actually there is a gizmo5 forum where few other people pointed out the same problem. Strange but true, no one from Gizmo5 team has replied to that threat yet.

    Have you tried their support ? what is their feedback ? i have been using Vopium formly , and was very satisfied with their customer support too - they give you instant responses via chat, messagesand calls which gives a customer real satidfation. I hope Gizmo will soon get the updates and will recover their process.
