Have you been using Google blogger and want to convert your blog from Blogger platform to Wordpress? Or are you stuck with LiveJournal and want to convert it to Blogger? Whatever is the case, converting your blog from one service to another service is not that easy task. It requires some technical knowledge and has some practicle barriers.

Google just released a new open source project called "Google Blog Converter" which contains a number of converters to and from different Blog services.  The code is written in Python with scripts to execute the conversions either on the command-line scripts or hosted Google App Engine.

These scripts converts between the export formats of LiveJournal, MovableType, WordPress, and Google's own Blogger service. Check out Blogger2Wordpress blog converter for a sample conversion. So now whether you have blog in MovableType, LiveJournal, TypePad, Blogger or Wordpress, you can convert them all using Google Blog Converter.
