Yahoo Search USA recently launched a new feature that gives you comprehensive information such as gas prices, locations and even maps without having to leave the search results page. So if you search for [gas prices + city name/zip code] or [cheap gas + city name/zip code], you will get the local gas stations gas prices information right on the yahoo search result page.

That made me think if there is any site that gives you the most comprehensive list of petrol prices around the world. That's when I landed at Kshitij.com. Kshitij.com held a study (probably long back based on the article) about the global petrol prices and got really good hit from different search engines.

To keep it upto date now they have started to collect information from users. According to their contributors for 2008, India has petrol prices varying from Rs. 45.52 to 60.00 in different states/cities. I wonder if Indian government keeps any upto date information which lists petrol prices for different parts of India.

Do you know the site that has list of Indian cities/states petrol prices? If you know the site please put your comments below.

P.S. If someone wants to create a website which lists gas prices for USA, there is an Off the Shelf script called phpgas.com which is being sold for $89.11. I am pretty sure there may be some open APIs which can give you access to the USA gas prices database.
