Social Networking site FaceBook has already gained its popularity over people not only amongst the youngster but also with people from all walks of life.

Aircel the India’s leading GSM provider has come up with new service which allows its user to update their facebook status through SMS. This service is available for both prepaid as well as postpaid customers and does not require any GPRS or internet connection.

Aircel has joined hands with Maxis Communications Berhad of Malaysia and Sindya Securities and Investments Private Limited to provide this FaceBook SMS service. To use this service , user have to log in to their facebook account and select “Register for Facebook Text messages” under the “Mobile” Tab . Now select ‘Aircel India’ as your mobile provider from the drop down menu and select India as a country and Aircel India as the carrier and press next. Now send a text message containing letter ‘ f’ to 51555 and wait for the conformation code . After receiving, enter the code in SMS to enable this service.

User can now post their status updates, comment, like, poke and more. To post status updates on Facebook profile, just write SMS and send it to 51555.
